Saxophone Quartet.The title “Pentagram” is from the five-pointed star-the shape that you can draw in one stroke.In this work, we focus on the number five: the time signature is in five, and a motivic interval is the perfect fifth. With five parts including “Introduction”, “Exposition”, “Development”, “Recapitulation”, and “Coda”, we continue the sequence for every aspect of the song. In addition, the fermata with parenthesis in the score is to “stretch a little longer”.(Takamasa Sakai)
