The KH 120 II is an active monitoring speaker offered by the Neumann brand.

It is designed for near-field applications with a recommended listening distance of 1 to 2 meters (3 to 6 feet). It is therefore perfectly suited for small rooms such as home studios and demo studios, as well as mixing and editing rooms, or as a surround speaker in large multichannel applications. Thanks to its exceptional linearity in a portable format, the KH 120 II is also an excellent choice for creating a high-quality improvised control room on site (for example, orchestra/choir, live recording, film, broadcast).

Ready for Your Room

Even the best speaker cannot sound better than the acoustic environment allows. Neumann’s Mathematically Modelled Dispersion™ (MMD™) waveguide ensures a wide ideal listening area and minimizes reflections from the work surface. But the KH 120 II goes much further: its internal DSP allows room calibration through Neumann’s revolutionary automatic monitor alignment. The MA 1 (sold separately) ensures optimal adaptation of your DSP active monitors to your room’s character and perfect alignment for your listening position. Even in acoustically treated rooms, this results in significant improvement.

Tonal compatibility with other studio monitors in the KH range allows the KH 120 II to be used in mixed systems, for example in immersive configurations. For flexible connectivity, the KH 120 II has analog and S/PDIF inputs.

AES 67 – Audio over IP

In addition, the KH 120 II AES67 variant integrates redundant AES67 audio network ports that fully comply with broadcasting standards such as ST 2110, ST 2022-7 redundancy, and RAVENNA. At the same time, the KH 120 II AES67 is compatible with AES67 network streams generated by DANTE®.

Energy Efficiency

Neumann engineers have meticulously developed a patented amplifier technology that combines superior audio performance with Class D energy efficiency. Although the power amplifiers of the KH 120 II deliver up to 145 W to the 5.25″ woofer and 100 W to the 1″ tweeter, they consume only 17 W at idle. And the automatically deactivatable standby mode reduces power consumption to 0.3 W after a period of non-use of the KH 120 II.
