When looking closely at the frequency response of the SM57, one notices that it is not linear. Below 200 Hz, low frequencies are suppressed to eliminate buzzing interference. There are peaks at 2 kHz and 6 kHz to enhance the transparency and clarity of the signal, and dips at 7 kHz and 8 kHz to, this time, reduce the “harshness” of the audio signal.
