The HM 2 is an anti-buzz box.The HM 2 is a device designed to eliminate the buzz (50 Hz AC current) caused by ground loops. It is also designed to convert unbalanced signals into symmetrical signals. Most of these buzzes (60Hz in the United States and 50Hz in most other countries) are caused by ground loops because electricity uses different paths to access the earth. These ground loops act as radio antennas capturing buzz and noise. The HM-2 completely removes this by breaking the ground loop.
