2 Euphoniums | 2 TubasAmazones was commissioned by the ensemble “Euphonium-Tuba Company.” Yagisawa’s leading works for band include Machu Picchu and Nazca Lines (Bravo Music) and he is also recognized for a diverse collection of chamber winds compositions. Yagisawa’s six euphonium/tuba ensembles enjoy great popularity.The Amazons are a nation of female warriors from Greek mythology. This piece was premiered by the female artists comprising ETC, hence the theme and title. The composer’s trademark beautiful chorales and melodies are skillfully adapted for ensemble performance.
